Recently, some of our Year 5 students were invited to attend the most recent edition of "Bright Minds".

This is part of our transition programme to high school and all students are encouraged to apply.

"We learnt how to clone an African Violet plant. We sterilised Mung Bean seeds and put them into a non germ container with non-bacteria jelly, after cutting up the plant's leaf into tiny pieces and adding sterlised water."

"For saefty measures we had to wear apron, gloves, hairnet, safety glasses, masks and huge lab coats.:

"Fun fact: you can only clone living things!"

"In the Science Lab there was an emergency eye wash area and an emergency shower area."

"In our break time we made ninja stars with paddle pop sticks that exploded when the sticks hhit another surface."

"Later in the year there is another Bight Minds day called Little Chefs, we shall be applying for that too!"
