2019
It’s been another busy year for our 250+ students and school staff with many highlights around the students’ learning and development and across our school environment.
Sincere thanks to:
- our school families for your support of your child’s teacher and the Maroochydore State School across the school year
- all our school staff (teachers, teacher aides, specialist teachers, school admin, school support staff, cleaners and grounds staff and our volunteer supporters) for their ongoing commitment to the students’ engagement and learning each school day, and
- A special thank you has to go to our wonderful P&C Committee, who are small in number yet provide invaluable support to our school community in a number of ways, including providing the opportunity for all students to attend a number of incursions across the year.
This year Mrs Pool and I have been continued to be amazed by the achievements and application of our students in their learning areas, including the books our students are choosing for their reading enjoyment and their creativity across our art challenges. The visual art displays across the year in our Library have been stunning!
We would like to thank the amazing people who make this all possible along with the support the students get from home to keep on striving for excellence and improvement.
On behalf of all school staff, Mrs Pool and I wish our whole school community a wonderful and safe Christmas and holiday period and look forward to welcoming you and a number of new families back to the new school year on Tuesday January 28 2020.
Farewell Year 6
It is a very busy and reflective time for our Year 6 students as they prepare to move on to new settings, mostly to MSHS, and undertake their secondary schooling. Our continuing wish for you all is to continue to participate in everything on offer at the high school and to also try your best in your pursuit of excellence.
Our 41 Year 6 students will certainly be missed in 2020 and we look forward to our current Year 5 students becoming our school seniors.
Staffing
At the end of each school year we have to say farewell to some of our valued staff members as circumstances change.
Mrs Belinda Costello – our long serving staff member from the ECDP is retiring and we all sincerely thank her for her wonderful and supportive nature to her students and their parents since 1995. Thank you Bella and wishing you and your family continued good health on your new plans and ventures.
Special thank you also to:
Mrs Denise Ormerod – a teacher
aide in the ECDP who is moving to Buddina SS, and
Mrs Amanda Brown – a teacher aide who will be
back filling at Peregian Springs for a year.
This year we also say goodbye to two of our contract staff – Mrs Blanch and Mr Spurr, who both have been with us for many years and a huge thank you for your teaching and collaboration with our school and staff.
Mrs Belinda Huxley will be welcomed to a HOSE role in 2020 as will Mrs Kim McFadzen as we continue supporting our learning support students.
Mrs Melane Bellamy will support our ECDP students.
Our Guidance Officer role is expanded and we welcome Miss Fallon Cappler for one day a fortnight to join with Mrs Annette Te Aho in the guidance support role.
