Welcome to the hidden gem of Maroochydore – Maroochydore State School
KAIZEN – improvement, continuously improving
Where did Term 4 go?
In fact, it is hard to believe that this is the final newsletter for 2018. At the beginning of term 4 we had the anticipation and excitement around swimming and surfing and now it’s been and gone all too quickly. A real blink of the eye.
Well done to our Prep to Year 5 swimmers and the Year 6 surf awareness participants. Your improvement and engagement was noted by both school staff and the external staff providers at the Cotton tree Olympic Pool and Mooloolaba Surf Club.
Last night we officially farewelled our Year 6 students as they prepare for their move to a new school setting to undertake their secondary schooling. Three students completed their whole primary school education at MSS – well done to Hayleigh, Jaime and Erika.
Thank you to our P&C for providing End of Year Owls as a memento for our Year 6 leavers, they again were well received and proved popular for gathering signatures.
Congratulations to our major award winners – Callum, Manreet, Myckeai, Leah, Dominic, Ignacio, Yarik and Nikola.
Three special cheers to all of our performers from Monday’s Talent Quest. What a lovely afternoon was had by all and we enjoyed watching you up on stage. We have some very talented singers, dancers and musicians.
A special thank you to our P&C Committee who again this year have provided amazing support to our school community in a number of ways. The work of this small group of ladies is invaluable to us all.
To Bronnie in the Tuckshop and her volunteers a special thank you for your regular tuckshop service and welcoming smiles each Friday.
To our regular volunteers again a sincere and warm thank you from all staff for your ongoing assistance and support of our school learners across another busy year.
To all our school community I would like to warmly thank all of the amazing people who make Maroochydore State School such a supportive and professional school environment. I am regularly reminded on my daily walks around the school, where I just listen, of the achievements being made by our students, the engaging teaching and learning activities happening and that welcoming attitude to all for a new day.
On behalf of our school community we wish all a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Year period and we look forward to seeing you again for the new 2019 school year.
