The 2025 Theme: Book an Adventure!
Jess McGeachin, the featured CBCA artisit, has brilliantly captured this adventurous spirit in his artwork, which features a whimsical map filled with imaginary characters.
Jess’ illustration invites young readers to embark on fantastical journeys, inspiring them to travel through the worlds that books open up.
As an award-winning Australian picture book illustrator, Jess’ work encourages children to imagine, explore, and create their own adventures.
The annual suite of School Opinion Surveys is conducted in Term 3 and will close on 22 August 2025.
All families, school staff and students in target year levels (5 & 6) will be invited to participate.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to have your say about what our school does well, and how we can improve.
An invitation to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey will be emailed to one parent/caregiver per family in the week beginning 28 July.
The invitation will be sent from the Department of Education, not the school, and it will have the subject line School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2025.
Please check your junk email folders if you can’t find it. The survey can be completed as soon as the invitation is received and will take approximately 5 minutes using a computer, tablet or smart phone.
All Queensland public schools are required to implement a text messaging system to follow up on unexplained absences.
Effectively, if a child has not arrived at school and a parent has not informed the school, it is a requirement for the school, to send a text message requesting a reason for the absence on a daily basis.
We ask that parents assist by ensuring all absences are explained on a daily basis.
From time to time, we predict that we may make some errors with texts and ask for your support as we fulfil this process.
After 9am a text message is sent to parents if their child is absent - It would be appreciated if parents can IMMEDIATELY respond by text to let us know.
The following options are currently in place to contact the school regarding absences. To avoid unexplained absences, please report the absence before 8:00 am.
- Student Absentee Call Line (5475 1555)
Thanks for your prompt replies and notifications.
