Just a couple of reminders: parents,
a) please remind your child - to leave their jewellery at home as it is not needed during their learning time
b) our cleaning staff are completing the grounds clean with blowers and have found their task trickier since the return of school with a number of students being here before 8am. Parents are to organise booking their child into Helping Hands for any before school care that covers any early morning work commitments you have
c) our staff are not on duty before school until 8:05am
d) please remind your child to leave their jewellery at home as it is not needed during their learning day and avoids damage, loses and other distractions during the school day
Semester 1 academic reporting summary - these are our Semester 1 academic results achieved by our students.
More than 82% of our students across the school achieved a C or better in English, with 38% achieving an A or B.
In Mathematics, over 88% of students achieved a C or better, and 53% reached an A or B.
Its been very positive to see so many parents check in with their child's teacher since the beginning of the term to reflect on the Semester 1 results and do some goal setting for Semester 2.
Do see your child's teacher to make a time for a brief catch up conversation.
An early reminder that Friday 5th September is a student free day, regular classes will not be held on this day and the school will be closed.
Bully Zero - State Government's Antibullying Initiative
A valuable opportunity is being provided to parents/carers of our schools within the region, to participate in a free face-to-face 1.5-hour workshop facilitated by Bully Zero, a leading bully prevention organisation.
The workshop Bully Zero, is designed to proactively support parents to understand what bullying is and what parents can do to support their children to be safe both online and when face to face with their peers.
The attached flyer provides information regarding locations, inclusive of the online option and how to register for the workshops.
Participants must register for the workshops.
The suite of School Opinion Surveys is undertaken each year by the Department of Education to obtain opinions about our school from families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11).
The surveys will help identify what we are doing well, and understand where we can improve.
The survey invitation will be emailed in the week beginning 21 July and is titled School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2025. Each school family will receive one email invitation from the Department of Education to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey.
The survey is anonymous, and the results are not reported in ways that an individual’s response can be identified by the school. Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to complete the survey.
The survey can be completed via computers, tablets or smart phones with an internet connection.
For Parents/Caregivers who do not have access to the internet school computers/tablets will be available. Parents/caregivers who experience difficulties accessing the survey can request a new survey from the School Opinion Survey team via email schoolopinionsurvey@qed.qld.gov.au.
It’s important that as many parents/caregivers as possible complete the survey, so we would appreciate if members of this committee would raise awareness of this survey with other parents and caregivers.
Can’t find your invitation?
If your family has more than one parent/caregiver, check that they haven’t received the invitation and/or check your junk email folder.

Respectful Relationships - a parents guide
From early childhood, children begin to form their understanding of empathy, communication, and the importance of healthy, positive relationships. This guide supports parents in nurturing these essential skills at home, using age-appropriate books and practical discussion points.
Drawing from the federal Respectful Relationships initiative, which empowers schools and communities to foster equality, respect, and resilience, this resource offers a curated selection of literature and activities designed to help your child build meaningful connections.
